Corporate Tax & VAT Services in the UAE

Our corporate tax & VAT services in UAE take both off your plate: we register you with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA)

Corporate Tax Services in the UAE

Federal corporate tax applies to financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023. Taxable income up to AED 375,000 is charged at 0%, and income above that level is charged at 9%. Free zone businesses may qualify for a 0% rate on qualifying income, but only if they meet the conditions set by the law, so every free zone entity still has filing duties.

Corporate Tax Registration

Every taxable person must hold a corporate tax registration number, including free zone companies and many individuals running a licensed business. We gather your trade licence, ownership details and financial year information, complete the application on EmaraTax and follow up with the FTA until the registration is issued. The FTA makes the final decision on every application.
Late registration penalty: missing your registration deadline can lead to an administrative penalty of AED 10,000. Under a current FTA initiative, this penalty can be waived if you file your first corporate tax return within seven months of the end of your first tax period, instead of the usual nine. If you are already late, talk to us quickly so we can check whether you still qualify.

Corporate Tax Return Filing

A corporate tax return is due within nine months of the end of your tax period. For a company with a December year end, that means the return and payment are due by 30 September of the following year. Our team:

  • Reviews your financial statements and adjusts accounting profit to taxable income
  • Checks exempt income, non-deductible expenses and related party transactions
  • Applies any reliefs you are entitled to
  • Files the return and confirms the amount payable, if any

Small Business Relief

Understand your eligibility and make an informed decision about Small Business Relief.

Resident businesses with revenue of AED 3 million or less in a tax period may elect for Small Business Relief, which treats them as having no taxable income for that period.

Following a 2026 Ministry of Finance decision, it is available for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2029, and it must be claimed in the return.

It is not automatic, and some entities, such as qualifying free zone persons and members of large multinational groups, cannot use it.

We check whether the election makes sense for you and record it correctly.

VAT Services in Dubai & the UAE

VAT has applied in the UAE since 2018 at a standard rate of 5%, with some supplies zero-rated or exempt. Getting the treatment right on each sale and purchase is where most mistakes start. Our VAT services in Dubai cover four core areas.

VAT Registration

We confirm whether you must register or may choose to, prepare the supporting documents and submit your application on EmaraTax so you receive a Tax Registration Number (TRN). We also handle amendments and deregistration when your business changes.

VAT registration

VAT Return Filing

Most businesses file quarterly, some monthly. Returns and payment are due within 28 days after each tax period ends. We reconcile your sales and purchase records, calculate output and input tax, and file on time every period.

Business VAT Refund

When the input tax you pay is higher than the output tax you charge, your business may claim the excess back. We prepare the refund claim and supporting schedules and respond to FTA queries. The FTA reviews and decides each claim. This service is for registered businesses, not the tourist refund scheme.

VAT Compliance Audit & Health Check

A VAT health check reviews past returns, invoices and tax codes to find errors before the FTA does. If we find an issue, we explain the options, including a voluntary disclosure where needed, so you can correct it on your terms.

VAT Registration Thresholds

Understand when your business must register for VAT and when voluntary registration may be an option.

Registration Type Threshold What It Means
Mandatory
AED 375,000

Taxable supplies and imports above this amount in the past 12 months, or expected in the next 30 days.

You must apply for VAT registration when the mandatory threshold and applicable conditions are met.
Voluntary
AED 187,500

Eligible taxable supplies, imports or expenses above this amount.

You may choose to register and reclaim eligible input tax, subject to UAE VAT rules.

A mandatory registration application is due within 30 days of crossing the threshold. Applying late can attract a penalty, so we track your turnover monthly and alert you early.

E-Invoicing Is Next

From 2027, the UAE is moving to mandatory e-invoicing in phases, starting with businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more. Your VAT records and invoice formats will need to line up with the new system.
